Although the suit was first created in the 1920’s, the 80’s brought us the power suit – just as women started entering the work force in droves. The power suit, you might say never left since as many women religiously reach for the suit as their work wear amour choice.
The difference or the big trend in suit dressing this time around (in 2019) is COLOUR. The very bright colours like pinks, yellows, greens, reds. If that is too risqué for you, why not try a sorbet like colour scheme. Think pastel blue, “millennial” pink etc. But to rock your “power suit” this season, you must rock it with a splash of colour (and preferably double breasted but not compulsory.)
And keep in mind that the suit is no longer just reserved for the office. It can serve as the perfect go to cocktail and “drinks” attire.
It doesn’t get any chicer and more put together than a gorgeous double breasted coloured power suit.
