You are not dreaming, the fanny pack or as rather the “belt bag” as it’s better known is back and it looks like it will be sticking around for awhile. Like everything in the zeigiest, all that was old is new again. But, and it’s a big but, there seems to be something super stylish and chic about the latest incarnation of this particular fashion trend.
Everywhere you look you see one. Some worn over a coat, some worn as a belt, some worn with a nod to sporty spice (hopefully if you are reading this you get the Spice girl reference). There are a multitude on the market. The trend is so big; every single fashion label and we mean every label put out a version of “the belt bag” down the runway.
There are architectural, sculptural, exquisitely finished versions. There are versions of the Belt Bag presented in new proportions and vivid colour combinations – sometimes with interchangeable belts, created to be clashed or worn conservatively. Whatever your style or preference is, there is a belt bag for you.
No matter what side of “the belt bag” fence you sit on, the one thing we can all agree on is that this belt bag thing is way more fabulous than your mother’s fanny pack. *just saying
