The statement piece for this season would have to be a bit of shimmer! Don’t be intimidated by shimmer and especially the silver kind. I am not thinking doing a whole head to toe look, but a bit of sequence mixed in with a black pant or jacket can truly make you look fabulous and stand out in a crowd.
I have styled a look below and I have done it in a “casual glam” way which to be honest is a style of dressing that is quite prominent at the moment. A bit of sequence brightens a whole look and gives you a sense of opulence.
I am also a fan of buying clothes that I can wear and re-wear and style up in different ways not matter the season. A great sequence piece is an item that lends itself easily to being styled again and again.
In this instance I have styled it with a knit, open sandals but that evening for drinks I wore it with a silky black spaghetti strap top and later on I wore the same skirt with white t-shirt. Three very different but winning looks!
